To possess a teaching license indicates that a teacher has met the requirements of content knowledge in his or her field of study, is able to plan and prepare rigorous, standards-based lessons for students, and maintains professionalism while teaching.

Goal as an HTSB Board member:
To communicate to teachers, administrators, legislators and the general public the accomplishments of the HTSB, the status of its current work and future plans, in a timely manner. To be able to work cooperatively and effectively with other members of the Board and its staff. To evaluate the effectiveness of the HTSB's progress towards monitoring teacher licensing and its response time to teacher inquiries.
