Philosophy on teacher licensing:
The success of Hawaii's economy depends on an innovative, well-educated workforce. Teacher licensing is a necessary component in Hawaii's movement to create a successful 21st century education model. The Hawaii Teacher's Standards Board and the Department of Education must continue to work together to provide all Hawaii's children with highly qualified, effective teachers.
Goals as an HTSB Board member:
Streamline and improve the licensing process for all Hawaii's teachers. Continue to research and provide cutting-edge flexible teacher licensing options while maintaining high quality, effective teachers in every classroom.
