30 years in Education: 8 as a public school classroom teacher, 12 as a state science educational specialist, and 10 as a public school administrator.

Philosophy on teacher licensing:
Authorization for the licensed teacher with the right and privilege to educate students in Hawaii's classrooms.  Meets the standards of a Professional Teacher who is highly qualified and highly effective, having shown commitment toward improving one's own art of teaching and learning.  A Hawaii Teacher License holder embodies a world-class, student focused, professional teacher that is respected by peers, students, parents and community.

Encourage discourse for informed and timely decision-making, problem solving on issues related to teacher licensing, and to improve student learning in every classroom.
