Philosophy on teacher licensing:
Licensing provides credibility and public recognition of a profession that for so long has not been recognized as "professional." Licensing says that the license is professionally fit, adheres to a professional code of ethics and believes in a set of core values that includes rigorous professional standards regarding what the licensee should know, be able to do and care about.

Goals as an HTSB Board member:
As an advocate for teacher quality, my goal as an HTSB member is to share my knowledge, attitude and values for public education to support a profession that is recognized for its commitment and dedication to the children of Hawaii.
