The Hawaii Teacher Standards Board administers the licensing and relicensing process in accordance with provisions in chapter 302A - 801-808, Hawaii Revised Statutes.  The Board may issue, renew, deny, suspend, revoke, non-renew or reinstate licenses and permits. 

Proposed amendments to HTSB's Administrative Rules, including contested case hearing procedures, are awaiting approval by the Governor to go to public hearing. In the meantime, at the advice of the Office of the Attorney General, the Board follows provisions for contested case proceedings in Chapter 91 HRS.
