Types of Permits

The Hawaii Teacher Standards Board issues two types of permits:

A Career and Technical Education (CTE) Limited Duty Special Permit may be granted for one year at a time for five (5) years to an applicant who meets the requirements. Read about the Career and Technical Education Limited Duty Special Permit to see if you qualify.

A Ni'ihau Limited Duty Special Permit may be granted to an instructor employed on Ni'ihau as of June 1, 2000.  Read about the Ni'ihau Limited Duty Special Permit to see if you qualify.
