The Hawai'i Teacher Standards Board administers the NBPTS fee subsidy program when funding is available. A $500 fee subsidy will be awarded to first-time candidates who have not previously received a subsidy from HTSB. Only candidates who have already paid the NBPTS $500 non-refundable initial fee, have received an active Candidate ID number and have released their name for third party viewing will be considered.

If you have not released your name for third party viewing, you can call 1 800 22 TEACH and the staff will assist you. Alternatively you can log on to ‘My Profile’ on the NBPTS web site (www.nbpts.org) and change your permission from there. The change will take 24 hours to show up in the system. Once funding has been exhausted, subsidies will not be available. 

To verify that a subsidy has been awarded, candidates should log into “My Profile” at the National Registration and Information Center at www.nbpts.org. Results are NOT available at HTSB’s office.

For current NBPTS first-time candidates and retakers:
