Using Composite Scores to Meet PPST Requirements
The Hawaii Teacher Standards Board (HTSB) has approved the use of a composite score for the PRAXIS Pre-Professional Skills Tests (PPST) in reading, writing, and math. License applicants may now be deemed to have met their PPST requirements if their composite or combined score on the three tests totals at least 516 and each of the individual test scores is at least 170. The Hawaii Teacher Standards Board also will continue to accept applicants who meet the PPST requirement by attaining the current passing scores on each individual test.
