Subsidy available for teachers pursuing national board certification
Teachers who are pursuing certification by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards can apply for a subsidy to help pay for the application fee.
The subsidies are available on a competitive basis to those candidates who have not previously received a subsidy. Teachers receiving subsidies must attend National Board support sessions.

The Hawaii Teacher Standards Board was created to improve the quality of the teaching profession by ensuring that teachers hired in the State of Hawaii are fully licensed and qualified to teach in the subject area(s) in which they were hired.
